As part of the consultation process on the proposed amendments to the draft law “On Deposit Insurance,” on 13 July 2026, the Deposit Insurance Agency held its second consultation meeting with representatives of the Savings and Credit Associations (SCAs) that are members of the deposit insurance scheme. The meeting was organized as a follow-up to the first consultation meeting held on 8 June 2026.
During the meeting, representatives of the SCAs were informed about how the Agency had addressed several of the issues and comments raised during the first meeting, thereby confirming that the consultation process is continuing an ongoing basis and reflecting the Agency’s transparent approach to the concerns raised by the sector.
This meeting was also conducted in a cooperative and constructive atmosphere, strengthening the institutional dialogue between the Agency and the SCAs and contributing to a consultation process that is as transparent and inclusive as possible for all members of the scheme.
In conclusion, the Agency reiterated its commitment to continuing its cooperation with the Savings and Credit Associations, with the aim of finalizing a legal framework that is closely aligned with European standards and appropriately tailored to the specific characteristics of the sector.
