The Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency visits the National Deposit Insurance Fund of Hungary.


In the framework of bilateral cooperation according to the provisions laid down in the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the two institutions, a delegation of the Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency visited the National Deposit Insurance Fund of Hungary.

Taking into consideration that both authorities operate in similar operational environments, the issues part of the discussions included topics related to the solutions undertaken for efficient pay-out processes, the cooperation between authorities’ part of the financial safety net, the improvement of practices for the establishment of supporting infrastructure for ensuring business continuity of the operations, etc. Also, part of the discussions were the current stage and the expected progress of the proposals for changes in the crisis management and deposit insurance (CMDI) framework of the European Union, as well as the steps taken by ADIA in relation to the compliance of its legal framework with the EU Directives. This topic takes on special importance considering that Hungary currently holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union and the Hungarian experience is considered an added value on the matter.

The general managers of both institutions considered the visit an important step towards the further development of bilateral relations between the National Deposit Insurance Fund of Hungary and the Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency. They committed to continuous coordination and implementation of cooperation protocols in regard to identified issues of common interest.
