Opening of Global Money Week 2026!

Global Money Week 2026 has officially begun, placing a strong emphasis on the importance of financial education for children and young people. This international initiative aims to raise awareness about money management and help the younger generation build a healthier and more responsible relationship with their finances.

The opening ceremony was held at the premises of the Bank of Albania and was addressed by the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko, who highlighted the growing importance of financial education, especially at a time when technological developments are transforming the way individuals interact with financial services.

Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about basic financial concepts and develop practical financial decision-making skills through a variety of educational activities, including open lectures, competitions, and interactive initiatives.

The Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency (ADIA), in cooperation with the Bank of Albania, the Ministry of Education, and the Albanian Association of Banks, has continuously contributed to the organization of awareness-raising and educational activities for pupils and students over the years.

Through its participation in this initiative, the Agency aims to encourage young people to become better informed and to develop practical skills for making responsible financial decisions, thereby contributing to their long-term well-being and to a more sustainable financial system.
