ADIA Hosts Training on International Cybersecurity Standards and Frameworks

On February 05, 2026, the Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency (ADIA) organized a dedicated training session focused on leading global cybersecurity standards and frameworks.

During the session, participants were introduced to key international frameworks, including CIS Controls, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and NIST SP 800‑53, highlighting their unique approaches and the ways they work together to enhance cybersecurity efforts.

A special focus was placed on ISO/IEC 27002:2022, the widely recognized information security standard published by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The training covered the structure of the standard, its four security control themes (Organizational, People, Physical, and Technological), all 93 security controls, and the five‑attribute classification system.

Through this session, ADIA staff gained essential insights into how these frameworks interrelate and received practical guidance on implementing ISO 27002 controls within operational environments.

The training was delivered by Mr. Khalid Simaan , Banking Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance (OTA), in the framework of the collaboration established between ADIA and OTA.
