Following the continuous cooperation with the members of the deposit insurance scheme with the aim of successfully fulfilling its mandate for the efficient compensation of depositors and the preservation of financial stability, the agency has held regional meetings with employees of bank branches as well as in Fier, Berat, Lushnje, Gjirokastër, Saranda, Shkodër and Lezhë. The object of the meetings and the topics covered are related to the awareness of the employees of the banks/SCA’s about their important role in the good functioning of the deposit insurance scheme and raising awareness about the features of the scheme. In these meetings, the role of the bank’s employees in the daily activity for the complete and correct release of data for the depositor and the deposit, for the standardization of the keeping of data for insurable deposits was emphasized; single customer view (SCV); technical simulations as well as accurate information of the depositor for insurance and compensation of deposits. Special attention was paid to the role of agent bank employees in a compensation event for the quick and accurate performance of the compensation payment process, as well as for the correct information of the depositor about the deposit compensation process.

In the context of continuous awareness of cyber risks and in coordination with the awareness campaign of the Albanian Association of Banks “Cyber risk – a constant challenge”, which takes place during the month of October, which has been designated as Cyber Security Month, part of the topics for discussion was also the importance of strengthening the commitment to cyber security and the preservation of digital infrastructure. In the presentations provided to the audience as well as in the subsequent discussions, the attention was brought to the care that must be shown to various cyber threats, as it is imperative to remain vigilant and proactive in maintaining information security against these malicious threats.

According to the approved plan, these meetings will continue with representatives of banks and small credit associations in other cities such as Korça, Pogradeci, etc., thus covering almost all large urban centers in Albania, where it is estimated that it is also the largest concentration of branches of financial institutions that are part of the deposit insurance scheme and, as a result, of depositors.
